Normandy DDay Beaches & Route de Liberte (Self Tour)

A long weekend taking in the Normandy landing beaches and route to Le Mont St Michel

A long weekend including quality local hotels which will take you along the Normandy DDay landing beaches of Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno & Sword. All named as part of the WWII OverLord mission. Also tracing the route de liberte through Normandy to Le Mont St Michel, Brittany.

East of the Normandy DDay Landing beaches near Sword Beach is Pegasus Bridge. During Operation Overlord on 6th June 1944 the British 6th Airborne Division Glider unit took the Bridge and was named Pegasus in tribute to them and the importance of this early victory.

You’ll see the tribute to the allied paratrooper hanging from the church in St Mere Eglise, also stopping in the historical town of Bayeux and the pretty port town of Port en Bessin, where you will stay the night in your designated hotel on the pretty portside.
